All employers apart from Queensland Government, are entitled to receive Commonwealth Government funding for any permanent or part time eligible* staff. The Australian Apprentice Centre and DETA are responsible for the administering of the funding for the employer. The funding amount is $4000 for the majority of courses and $5100 for Competitive Manufacturing and I.T. The money is paid directly to the employer in two installments at 3 months and at completion. The employer will pay the RTO for the training costs. In most cases this will more than cover the full costs of the Traineeship.
The training is provided by selected quality Registered Training Organisations. The courses are Nationally Accredited Certificate IV and also some Certificate III and Diplomas.
Training is at the workplace one on one, blended with classes to attend or online via e learning.
A ukeentolearn consultant will manage the process from the enquiry stage through to the course completion at no cost to you.
*Australian Government Funding Initiative available to eligible full & part time employees. All full time or ( part time 15hrs/week min.) staff. Non Qld. Government. Staff with a Certificate ii or less will normally qualify. Staff with a Certificate iii completed more than 7 years ago will normally qualify. An apprenticeship equates to a Certificate iii. Formal qualifications may effect eligibility. Because these courses are Certificate IV, usually an existing qualification equivalent to or higher would make the person ineligible. Although, it has often proven to be worthwhile to test eligibility regardless of the above. An Australian Apprenticeship Centre consultant has the authority to access the Government register of qualifications by simply supplying the full name and date of birth of the candidate. This process is usually a same day turn around. If no prior qualifications are recorded that person may be eligible for the funding. An Australian Apprenticeship Centre consultant will then visit the workplace to complete the Training Contract with the participant and the employer. This will then be processed and if approved the nominated RTO and the employer will be notified. All trainees must have a supervisor on site with experience in the field of the traineeship chosen. For example a Certificate IV Project Management trainee must have a person with experience in that field, formal or non formal as their supervisor. A supervisor is able to supervise more than one trainee at a time and is required to be the onsite reference for the participant.
